PSL 2021, Match 5: Peshawar Zalmi vs Multan Sultans – Match Preview
Peshawar Zalmi
Peshawar Zalmi have started this PSL 2021 season with a four-wicket defeat against Lahore Qalandars on last Sunday afternoon. Zalmi will try their best to come out from this situation as soon as possible.
While English cricketer Ravi Bopara scored a crucial half-century in their tournament opener after the failure of their most of the top-order batsmen, Shoaib Malik (26) and Sherfane Rutherford (26) both failed to utilise the opportunities after getting settled down. Amad Butt scored a firing 23 not out off just 11 balls to guide Peshawar Zalmi to the first innings total of 140/6.
Captain Wahab Riaz and Afghan spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman provided a good start by dismissing the openers at early stage but Lahore Qalandars’ next batsmen guided their team to successfully chase that target. Wahab Riaz (2/30) and Saqib Mahmood (2/22) both got two wickets each in that game.

Multan Sultans
Just like Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans also lost their opening game of the PSL 2021 as Islamabad United beat them by three wickets. So, they will also try their best to claim their first victory of this season on Tuesday night.
Captain and wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan has continued his great batting form in T20 cricket as the opener scored 71 off 53 balls (8 fours and 2 sixes), which was also his fifth consecutive 40+ knocks in T20 cricket, including one century and three more half-centuries. But Rizwan didn’t get proper support from the other batsmen as Multan Sultans managed to score only 150/8 in the first innings. Rilee Rossouw (25) and Carlos Brathwaite (22*) were the only other batters in that innings to score 20+ runs.
Multan Sultans bowlers did some good job, especially the right-arm pacer Carlos Brathwaite (2/23) and experienced leg-spinner Shahid Afridi (2/24). But Lewis Gregory’s 49 not out off 31 balls snatched away that game from Sultans’ hands.
