PSL 2025 In Chaos! No DRS For Playoffs And Final As Hawk-Eye Team Declines Return To Pakistan

The playoffs and final of the ongoing Pakistan Super League 2025 (PSL 2025) will be taking place without DRS (Decision Review System) and several other key technologies.
PSL 2025 finally resumed on May 17 after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) suspended it on May 7 due to the cross-border tension with India. According to reports, the PCB wanted to host the tournament in UAE but they did not get the permission for the same. Later, the PCB decided to conduct the remaining games in Pakistan.
However, the decision to play the remaining games in Pakistan has come with a big cost. Soon after the PSL was suspended, the entire Hawk-Eye team overseeing the DRS system left Pakistan due to security concerns. Even after the tournament resumed, they chose not to return.
As a result, the remaining league games were played without the DRS. It was expected that the technology, crucial for maintaining the accuracy of on-field decisions, would be available for the playoffs and the final. However, reports state that the PSL 2025 playoffs and final will also be played without the DRS as the Hawk-Eye team has decided against returning to Pakistan.
Decision Review System (DRS) will continue to remain unavailable for the playoffs and final of the ongoing PSL. The technology has not been used since the resumption of the tournament as Hawk-Eye crew, the provider of the technology, did not travel back to the country.

The PSL 2025 playoffs will get underway on May 21. The four teams that have qualified for the playoffs are Quetta Gladiators, Islamabad United, Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars. The Gladiators qualified as the table-toppers after winning 7 of their 10 league games.
