The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been eager to conduct the next edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2025) alongside IPL 2025.
In a recent development, Pakistan Super League franchises reportedly turned down a proposal allowing them to directly sign marquee players.
The upcoming Pakistan Super League cannot take place in its normal time frame of February-March due to the ICC Champions Trophy and other international commitments in Pakistan.
The tournament is also suffering from the availability of star players for the tournament due to the clash of schedules with the IPL.
The Pakistan Cricket Board reportedly proposed a possible window for the PSL 2025 season from April 10 to May 25, with final dates to be finalized soon.
The cricket board is considering allowing the Pakistan Super League franchises to negotiate directly with star players, and each team can sign one or two marquee players.

Franchises recently expressed their concerns about the Pakistan Super League schedule through email, but the board claimed the decision was made jointly with the teams. The franchises countered that they were not given an option, initially being told the Pakistan Super League would occur in October or November, which was later denied.
