The relationship between Multan Sultans and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) could turn sour after the latter dealt a blow to the former's home advantage in the ongoing PSL 2025.
The Multan-based outfit will have to play one fewer game at home this season after the PCB announced that its PSL match against Karachi Kings on May 1 will be played in Lahore and not Multan. Additionally, Multan Sultans' home game against Quetta Gladiators has been pushed back by a day and will now take place on May 11.
PSL X Schedule Changed
In a statement released on Monday (April 28), the PCB announced that two PSL games have been rescheduled. The board also explained the reason behind the call, stating that it was taken 'after multiple discussions with all stakeholders and keeping in mind the operational ease and recent heat waves in certain parts of the country'.

PCB didn't take teams into consideration?
The afternoon game on 1 May between Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings, originally scheduled at the Multan Cricket Stadium, will now take place at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore with the first ball to be bowled at 3 pm," stated the PCB.
"This also means Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium will now host a double header on 1 May, which is also a public holiday (Labour Day). In the evening, Gaddafi Stadium will host the Lahore Qalandars v Quetta Gladiators match as per the original schedule, which will begin at 8 pm.
"Furthermore, the last of the Multan-leg match scheduled on 10 May afternoon between Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators will now take place on 11 May evening, with the first ball to be bowled at 8 pm at the Multan Cricket Stadium," added the statement.
Multan Sultans miffed with PCB:
According to reports, Multan Sultans are not at all impressed with the recent decisions by the PCB. ESPNcricinfo has reported that the franchise is feeling extremely frustrated. The PSL franchise proposed moving the game against the Kings to May 6 in order to maintain the home advantage.
However, Karachi Kings rejected the proposal over travel issues. Had they accepted the proposal, they would have played three games at three different venues across five days. In the end, the PCB decided to stick with the original date but changed the venue.
The report further stated that the Sultans are upset with the entire episode. The franchise is disappointed that the decision was communicated to it as a fait accompli, leaving no room for further discussion or negotiation.
