The Pakistan Cricket Board does not give up on their vile tactics against the BCCI, as they are planning to hold the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in April and May next year after Ramadan, alongside the IPL 2026, in the same time frame.

The two teams, India and Pakistan, are already entangled in a never-ending clash of opinions, and now it has been further escalated with the two biggest franchise tournaments, IPL and PSL, clashing over the same time frame.

Pakistan Super League next year is again set to clash with the high-profile Indian Premier League, as the PCB is mulling holding the event in the same window as the IPL.

A PSL official said that it was held this year and overlapped with the IPL due to the ICC Champions Trophy, which was held earlier this year in Pakistan.

PSL to be conducted in the same window as IPL 2026

The PSL is likely to be held in the same window as that of the IPL in April and May next year, as they are planning to bring in two additional teams in the eleventh edition of the PSL.

The reason for this is that the ICC World T20 Cup is scheduled in February-March next year, and owing to some other scheduled games in the international calendar, it might not be possible again to hold the PSL in its usual February-March window.

"There is a window available to the Pakistan board in December and the first half of January, but it has already given NOCs to Pakistani players to play in the Big Bash in Australia in this period and has also planned some domestic activities," said some PCB sources.

PSL franchises to resolve issues with PCB

"So the discussion now with the franchise owners is to prepare for the PSL to be held in April-May, just like this year," a source said after the PCB had planned for a perfect window in the franchise T20 tournament in Pakistan.

Sources have revealed further that many issues are yet to be resolved between the PSL franchise and the PCB; hence, no formal meeting has been held to discuss the next edition of the Pakistan Super League.

On the other hand, the next edition of the IPL will be played from the 15th of March to the 31st of May; hence, this time too, there is a strong possibility that the dates might clash with the Pakistan Super League.

Pakistan's schedule for preparation for the two upcoming World Cups

In preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup, there will be a series of 3 T20 matches between Pakistan and Australia, followed by another two-match Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

After the conclusion of the T20 World Cup and the PSL, there will be a series of three ODIs between Pakistan and Australia.

This series will be played in May, while the red-ball series against Bangladesh will be followed by another 3-match ODI as well as a 3-match T20I series between Pakistan and Bangladesh. Pakistan will also play a 3-match ODI as well as a 3-match T20I series against Zimbabwe.
