Punjab Kings Playing 11 vs Rajasthan Royals- IPL 2025, Match 59:
Openers: Prabhsimran Singh (wk) and Priyansh Arya
Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya will open the batting for Punjab Kings in the upcoming match against former champions RR at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Sunday.
Prabhsimran is the leading run scorer for the team and has scored consecutive half-centuries in the 18th edition of the league.
Priyansh, on the other hand, has shown what he is capable of at the top of the order with his aggressive style of play and has already scored a century in his first-ever IPL season against CSK.
The Punjab Kings' openers have toned down their aggressive style of play a bit in the first six overs as they now take calculated risks and target a particular bowler.
Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Shreyas Iyer (c), Musheer Khan, Nehal Wadhera, Vishnu Vinod, Shashank Singh, Suryansh Shedge
With Josh Inglis' availability still in doubt for the remaining IPL games, it would be interesting to see who the Shreyas Iyer-led side brings in to replace the Australian wicketkeeper-batter.
Having said that, the likes of Shreyas Iyer, Nehal Wadhera, and Shashank Singh would like to keep up the good work they have done in the season so far.
Along with Inglis, his countryman Marcus Stoinis might also not be a part of PBKS once the IPL resumes, which will lead the team to make another force change.
Marcus Stoinis' absence might prove to be a blessing in disguise for a player like Musheer Khan, who impressed everyone with his performance in the 2024 Under-19 World Cup.
PBKS are set to go under a revamp as far as their batting order is concerned, with the absence of certain key players after the resumption of the league.
Bowlers: Arshdeep Singh, Yash Thakur, Vijaykumar Vayshak, Yuzvendra Chahal
Although PBKS would be concerned about their batting resources, the team would want their bowlers to keep up the good work they have done in the tournament so far.
But they still might have to suffer a big blow in their bowling department as well, with the uncertainty over Marco Jansen's participation.
Jansen was a crucial part of Punjab Kings' bowling line-up and shared the new ball with Arshdeep Singh while picking up crucial wickets for the team in all phases of the innings.
If the South African pacer decides to skip the league, PBKS will have to identify someone who can complement Arshdeep like Jansen did.
Amidst all the chaos, Punjab Kings' management would be elated by the form of their leading fast bowler, Arshdeep Singh, in the second half of the tournament.
PBKS will once again depend on Yuzvendra Chahal to take care of the team's spin bowling department.
