Punjab skipper KL Rahul also confessed that his heart rate reached a top-notch during the last few overs of the game.
“Heart rate was high but I didn’t stop believing. We knew a couple of wickets would bring us back. Till the first 10-11 overs we bowled well. It was close because we dropped a few sitters, including me. As a bowling unit, we bowled as we planned. When you’re bowling against Sanju, it’s difficult,” KL Rahul said after the match.
KL Rahul smashed 91 runs off 50 balls to take his team Punjab Kings to a mammoth total of 221-6 while batting first. For Rajasthan Royals, skipper Sanju Samson played a fabulous knock of 119 runs off 63 balls to take the match to the final ball.
However, he could not manage to hit a six off the final ball when Rajasthan Royals needed 5 runs to win. He was caught at the deep extra cover while trying to send the ball over the ropes. As a result, Punjab Kings won the match by just 4 runs in the nerve-wracking match.
