Radha Yadav rescued by NDRF from Gujarat Floods ahead of Women's T20 World Cup 2024

Heavy rainfall in Gujarat has caused flooding in many districts, and residents are facing a dangerous situation.
Indian women's cricketer Radha Yadav, who was recently included in the 15-member squad for the Women's T20 World Cup 2024, and her family also got trapped in the floods.
Floods in Gujarat have severely disrupted daily life, causing numerous deaths and forcing thousands to evacuate their homes.
According to the latest news reports, the Gujarat government is actively engaged in relief and rescue operations, with over 17,000 people having been rescued so far.

The Vishwamitri River, which flows through Vadodara, breached its banks due to heavy rainfall, resulting in severe flooding in the city's low-lying areas.
The flooding situation is critical, with many parts of Gujarat, including Vadodara, facing ongoing flood threats due to the relentless rain.
In Vadodara, heavy rain caused the Vishwamitri River to overflow, flooding low-lying areas and disrupting local life.
Radha Yadav and her family were trapped in the flood. However, the Indian cricketer and her family were safely rescued by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
On Wednesday, Radha Yadav posted a video on Instagram showing the severe flooding in her area. The video showed how NDRF teams rescued her using boats to navigate through submerged streets and assist stranded people. The spinner thanked the NDRF for their rescue efforts.
“We are Stuck in a Very bad situation. Thank you so much #NDRF for rescuing us,” Radha wrote on social media along with the video.

This comes nearly a week before the Indian women's team begins their T20 World Cup campaign against New Zealand on October 4. The Harmanpreet Kaur-le team will travel to the UAE. They are placed in Group A with defending champions Australia, Pakistan, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka.
Before their first match against New Zealand, the Indian women's team will play two warm-up games against South Africa and the West Indies. Radha Yadav is part of the 15-player squad for the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup 2024.

Amid the ongoing crisis, former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan urged Vadodara residents to prioritize their safety due to widespread flooding caused by heavy rains in Gujarat. Pathan advised people to stay indoors for their safety.

Several areas in Saurashtra, including Devbhumi Dwarka, Jamnagar, Rajkot, and Porbandar, witnessed heavy rainfall for 12 hours. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted intense rain in these regions for Thursday. The NDRF, SDRF, and Indian Army are actively engaged in rescuing people.
