The Rajasthan Royals have lost four games in a row and won just two out of eight matches so far. They are currently sitting in the eighth spot in the IPL 2025 points table with only points. Now, the pressure is on Dravid, who would certainly be eager to turn things around.
In a light-hearted moment before the RCB versus RR match in Bengaluru, Dravid’s sense of humor stole the spotlight as the former Indian head coach lightened the mood by playfully addressing the curse while hinting at using the trend to his team’s advantage against the hosts.

Dravid joked ahead of the IPL 2025 clash in Bengaluru: “Do we have an RCB player from last time? Play him in the XI straightaway!”
Notably, Wanindu Hasaranga and Shimron Hetmyer, who are now regulars in the Rajasthan Royals' playing XI, both have played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the past.
With Hasaranga and Hetmyer now in RR colors, their return to the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium brings not just experience but also a bit of extra motivation to continue the so-called "RCB Return" curse trend.
Well, the RR head coach kept things focused on the game ahead, brushing off any emotional angle to his return to Bengaluru, as he made it clear that it’s all about helping the Royals play good cricket and get back to winning ways in the ongoing IPL 2025.

Rahul Dravid noted, “No, not at all, man. I don't think about it like that, to be very honest. Just trying to play a good game of cricket.” He admitted that RR is having a tough time in the tournament, but he has full confidence in his team’s turnaround.
Rahul Dravid signed off by saying, “We know we have to play well to still be alive in this tournament. I know we've lost a couple of close games coming into this, but we've played some good cricket as well."
"It's one of those tournaments where a few balls going here or there, and we might have been in a slightly different position, but you need to play well in those critical moments.”
