Former India National Cricket Team head coach Rahul Dravid came up with praise for Virat Kohli for his innings against the Australia National Cricket Team in the Perth Test. He said that he has a strong feeling that the batter will have a big series down under.

India National Cricket Team batter Virat Kohli, ahead of the Australia series, was under a massive pump. The premier batter faced a lot of criticism as he failed consistently in the longest format of the game and failed to score runs for the team while batting at No.4.

Virat Kohli failed in the entire home season

Kohli failed in the entire home season as he looked torrid against spin and failed to score big. The right-hander was well below his standards and found new ways to get out, especially against the spinners on a turning track in India.

Kohli, who averaged just around 20 in Tests since 2020, saw many doubts being raised over his place in the team. There were even reports that if the India National Cricket Team batter failed to make an impact in Australia, then he would be dropped and wouldn't be part of a team in England.

With tides against him, Virat Kohli yet again stood tall under pressure and came up with a sensational effort with the bat. India's No.4 in Test cricket made sure that he starts the Australia tour on high and replies to all his critics with the bat and in his style.

Virat Kohli slammed his 30th Test ton and 81st International century in Perth

Everybrows were raised when Kohli managed just 5 runs in the first innings of the Test against Australia in Perth. But it didn't take him long to make a statement as in the very next innings, he produced a magnificent knock and proved yet again why is he rated as the "King of Cricket".

Right from the time he stepped on the crease, Kohli looked solid, and after being watchful initially, he made sure he returned to his old self. The batting great played some glorious shots in his innings and showed glimpses of Vintage Kohli.

After a long wait, Kohli slammed his 30th Test ton and 81st International century. The batting great ended with the innings of unbeaten 100 runs off 143 balls. He also hit 8 fours and 2 sixes during his knock and helped India National Cricket Team win the first game of the series by the massive margin of 295 runs.

I think he could have a big series - Rahul Dravid on Virat Kohli

Rahul Dravid, while lauding Virat Kohli, pointed out that the batter looked good in South Africa. He believes that it would be a great confidence booster for the right-hander to get a hundred at the start of the series. Speaking to Star Sports, he said:

“He's been batting well, even in South Africa a few months ago when we were there, I thought he was batting really well on a couple of difficult wickets. It's just nice for him to be able to get that hundred at the start of the series. I think he could have a big series."
