Former Pakistan opener Ramiz Raja has hailed Rahul Dravid for doing an outstanding job with India’s youngsters. Rahul Dravid, who serves as the coach of the U-19 team, has been given the nod by the BCCI to coach India in Sri Lanka. Ramiz Raja expressed his surprise at Rahul Dravid’s performance as a coach after India beat Sri Lanka in the second ODI.
India snatched victory from the jaws of defeat as they made a match after being six down, chasing 276 in 50 overs. Sri Lanka delivered a much better batting performance in the second ODI even though they failed to capitalize on the 77-run opening stand. But Deepak Chahar stole the match from their pockets by finishing unbeaten at 69 when India were struggling at 193-7.
“Chahar read the situation of the game brilliantly. A lot of credit for the same must go to Rahul Dravid, under whom these youngsters are being trained in Sri Lanka. A very good team environment is being built. He himself is a young coach,” Raja told in his Youtube channel.
Dravid talks less, and that is one of the secrets to success as a coach: Ramiz Raja

Ramiz Raja pointed out that Rahul Dravid talking less is his massive plus point as too many ideas creates confusion in the players’ minds. The cricketer-turned-commentator believes there were no two ways about Deepak Chahar’s knock as he converted a lost cause into a win.
“Dravid talks less, and that is one of the secrets to success as a coach. One should not overburden the mind with too many thoughts or ideas, which creates unnecessary confusion. And there was definitely no confusion in the manner in which Chahar played a great innings. In his fifth one-dayer, he played an amazing knock and won them a match, which seemed like a lost cause at one point,” he added.
