It has been learned that head coach Rahul Dravid’s job is not in jeopardy. The Down Under team had various flaws, including lackluster openers, a lack of an effective finisher, no express pace in the bowling lineup, and no wrist spinner.
Suryakumar Yadav, the top-ranked batter in the T20 format, has saved India’s face with his explosive strokes. Many players who might be vying for positions in the white-ball lineup are currently in New Zealand and want to demonstrate their abilities.
In their opening match, India defeated Pakistan in a thrilling fight. However, after easily defeating the Netherlands, they were defeated by South Africa on a scorching Perth field. Before a convincing victory over Zimbabwe, when Yadav once again made a statement, even Bangladesh came within a point of them in a game that was hampered by rain.
However, the 10-wicket defeat against Jos Buttler and his eventual champions exposed the team’s flaws. KL Rahul fell short of expectations against strong opposition in terms of both runs scored and strike rate. Virat Kohli’s half-century and Pandya’s late surge brought India to 168, which turned out to be completely insufficient.
BCCI calls Rahul Dravid, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli to a meeting to discuss India’s performance in the T20 World Cup:
The performance of India at the T20 World Cup has left the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) incredibly startled and outraged. A PERFORMANCE REVIEW MEETING has been scheduled, per a top official of the BCCI.
The BCCI will invite former skipper Virat Kohli, captain Rohit Sharma, and coach Rahul Dravid to the meeting. The BCCI Secretary will call the meeting, and the Indian team’s offensive performance will be discussed:
“We are calling them for a meeting. We are taken aback by what happened in Semifinal, obviously, changes are required. But no decision would be taken without hearing their side. Rohit, Rahul, and Virat’s inputs will be taken and the future course of action for the Indian T20 Squad will be taken“, confirmed the top BCCI official.
The next T20 World Cup takes place in the West Indies and the USA in 2024.
