Rajasthan Royals' All-rounder Rahul Tewatia Gets Engaged To Riddhi Pannu

Rajasthan Royals All-rounder Rahul Tewatia, who took the IPL 2020 by a storm with his batting, has entered new innings of his life as he has been engaged. The talented left-hander made a mark in the last year’s IPL with both bat and ball and became a useful addition for Royals after being traded from Delhi Capitals last year. He produced some of the best clinical strikings of the ball with five sixes in an over against Sheldon Cottrell.

Tewatia finished IPL 2020 with 255 runs and picked up 10 wickets. Due to his excellent performances, he was retained by the franchise ahead of the IPL Auction 2021. . Tewatia shared the photos of his engagement ceremony held in Haryana on Instagram. The function was attended by Indian cricketers Nitish Rana and Jayant Yadav while IPL star batsman Suresh Raina was quick to congratulate Tewatia on Twitter.

Epic Knock That Changed Rahul Tewatia’s Form

Rahul Tewatia, who was struggling initially to put bat to ball shifted gears in the middle and bounced back in style to shut his critics during a massive chase for Royals. Tewatia scored 53 off 31 deliveries in his remarkable innings and managed to hit 30 runs off a single over from Sheldon Cottrell which helped Rajasthan cross the line. All the commentators and experts were stunned by the hitting of Tewatia who did the unthinkable.

“I was looking at the run rate and wanted the scoreboard ticking as per the required run rate. Initially, I was not able to hit the ball properly but I was confident that I would switch gears quickly. I wanted to take my team close to the game and win. I was confident of a win. And, that’s what happened. The game-changing over eventually came (Sheldon Cottrell’s over),” Rahul Tewatia told Times of India after his knock.

Rahul Tewatia Making A Strong Statement for Upcoming IPL 2021

Rahul Tewatia was picked up by the Royals in 2014 and played for several teams after that. In the 2018 auction, he was wanted by the RCB and SRH while Delhi bought him for 3 crores. The talented left-hander has always been in the mix but couldn’t convert it to performances, but 2020 was a break out year for him as he managed to make it count. His performances earned him a proud autographed jersey from Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli.
