Jake Lush McCrum QUITS Rajasthan Royals

McCrum made massive contributions to Rajasthan Royals (RR), overseeing strategic growth, digital transformation, and fan engagement initiatives, and is also credited for shaping the franchise’s expansive vision. However, now Jake Lush McCrum has decided to part ways with the franchise after a long and successful tenure.

"Cricbuzz understands that England-born McCrum, who has served in many capacities in the Royals Operations before being elevated as the CEO, has called up a few fellow franchises and industry friends to inform his exit from the Jaipur franchise, the champions of the first season of the Indian Premier League (IPL)," the Cricbuzz report read.

Rahul Dravid parts ways with Rajasthan Royals

Jake Lush McCrum's RR exit comes weeks after the legendary India batsman and the head coach, Rahul Dravid, parted ways with the franchise.

Dravid had a good long-term relationship with the Royals, but quit as the head coach just one year into the job. He started his journey with the inaugural IPL champions in 2011 and was appointed as the captain of the team for 2012 and 2013. He captained RR in 40 matches and won 23.

In 2014 and 2015, Rahul Dravid served as the team mentor and director. Then, after a long hiatus, Dravid was named as the Rajasthan Royals head coach in September 2024, on the back of the T20 World Cup 2024 win as India head coach.

He signed a multi-year deal with the franchise, but in IPL 2025, Rajasthan Royals finished in ninth spot on the points table with just four wins in 14 matches. After a horror show in IPL 2025, the Rajasthan Royals offered a broader strategic role to Dravid, but he chose not to accept it.

Sanju Samson is also on his way out of the Rajasthan Royals

To make matters worse, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain, Sanju Samson, is also set to part ways with the franchise as he has already asked for his release.

Reportedly, Sanju Samson is unhappy with the RR management and some of the decisions that were taken ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, including the release of Jos Buttler.

The final decision on whether Samson will be forced to stay, traded to another franchise, or released into the auction will be made by the team owner, Manoj Badale.

As per reports, even if Samson stays with the franchise, he won't be handed the captaincy, and one among Riyan Parag and Yashasvi Jaiswal will be named as the new skipper.
