The Rajasthan Royals (RR) have been making headlines for their demands over the Sanju Samson deal. Earlier, they failed to seal the deal with the Delhi Capitals (DC), and now they are in serious discussions with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to transfer Sanju Samson.

CSK has reportedly agreed to transfer Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran to bring Samson on board ahead of the November 15 retention deadline. But now the Royals have asked for Matheesha Pathirana instead of Curran, and the CSK are yet to respond to their fresh demand.

Now, it will be interesting to see whether the Royals will succeed in acquiring Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran or Matheesha Pathirana. Amidst the trade buzz, the Rajasthan Royals shared a cryptic post on Instagram as they wished Riyan Parag a ‘Happy Birthday.’

Riyan Parag is celebrating his 24th birthday on November 10, and the Royals wished their young all-rounder with a bold post. The video looks more like a big announcement post than a birthday, and its caption left everyone guessing. They shared a part of Parag’s interview.

The clip featured a number of pictures from nets in the IPL 2025 season, where he also captained the RR in a few games when Samson was recovering from an injury, and showed him receiving his debut cap from Virat Kohli. Additionally, some moments from Parag’s India actions.

But the interesting part was the Assam cricketer’s statement and RR’s caption. Riyan opened up about his approach, explaining how success in the game comes from constant preparation and focus. Parag shared that he relies heavily on visualizing different situations before stepping on the field, which helps him stay calm and confident during real matches.

Riyan Parag said in a video shared by the Rajasthan Royals on Instagram: “It's a lot of sacrifice, but then once you figure that out, there's a bigger goal at the end of the picture, and then it just works out. You don't know what's going to come in the exam, but you're prepared.

If you're not prepared, you're lost. You try and make up something, and once you try and make up something in cricket It does not go well,, it and I visualize a lot of things. So, when I'm there, it's nothing new for me; you get that edge, you get that mindset.”

Sharing the clip where the franchise wished Parag Happy Birthday at the end of the video, RR wrote in the caption, “I visualize a lot of things 💗.” This left many to speculate that the Royals dropped a major hint about the captaincy on Parag’s birthday.

Well, the IPL teams have until November 15 to submit their final list of retained players. The auction for the upcoming season is expected to be held in mid-December, although the exact date has not been confirmed yet. Interestingly, the IPL 2026 auction is likely to be held in Dubai or Jeddah.
