Rajasthan Royals (RR) will be locking horns against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 53rd match of IPL 2025. The RR vs KKR match is scheduled to be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday, May 4.
RR have already been knocked out of IPL 2025. They became the second team after Chennai Super Kings to be eliminated. RR have only pride to play for, and they will be desperate to win their remaining games to finish their campaign on a high.
In their last outing, the Royals suffered a crushing 100-run loss at the hands of the Mumbai Indians. Batting first, Mumbai posted a big total of 217/2 in 20 overs. In reply, RR failed to put up any fight with the bat and were all out for 100 runs.
With RR now looking to register a morale-boosting win, we are taking a look at the Rajasthan Royals' Playing 11 for the upcoming match against KKR.
Rajasthan Royals' Playing 11 vs KKR- IPL 2025, Match 53:
Openers: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Vaibhav Suryavanshi
Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi are expected to be the openers in the RR Playing 11 for the upcoming game against KKR. After impressing with the bat against the Gujarat Titans, both the openers failed to deliver against the Mumbai Indians.
14-year-old Suryavanshi, who had scored a historic 35-ball ton against Gujarat, could not even open his account and was dismissed for a 2-ball duck by Deepak Chahar. He will be keen to bounce back. Jaiswal failed to impress with the bat as well.
The southpaw had scored an unbeaten half-century against Gujarat but could score only 13 runs against Mumbai Indians before being castled by Trent Boult. He will be eyeing a better performance too.
Middle-order: Nitish Rana, Riyan Parag (c), Dhruv Jurel (wk), Shimron Hetmyer
All of RR's middle-order batters failed to impress in the last game, although they are expected to retain their spots in the Rajasthan Royals Playing 11 for the upcoming match. Nitish Rana scored just 9 runs before being dismissed by Trent Boult.
Captain Riyan Parag once again failed to lead his team from the front. The right-handed batsman made a quick start and was batting on 16 off just 7 balls before he was dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah.
Dhruv Jurel will also look to do well after falling for run-a-ball 11 in the last game. Shimron Hetmyer had a disappointing outing with the bat too, as the West Indies star was out for a golden duck. Shubham Dubey was used as an Impact Player, but he too had a forgettable outing with the bat. The middle-order batsman was out for 15 runs.
Bowlers: Jofra Archer, Maheesh Theekshana, Kumar Kartikeya, Akash Madhwal, Fazalhaq Farooqi
With Sandeep Sharma out due to an injury, the Rajasthan Royals' Playing 11 had a different bowling combination. Even though the bowlers failed to restrict MI to a low total in the last game, they are likely to retain their spots in the Rajasthan Royals Playing 11.
Jofra Archer, Kumar Kartikeya, Akash Madhwal, and Fazalhaq Farooqi are likely to be the pacers in the RR Playing 11, while Maheesh Theekshana is expected to lead the spin attack. Only Theekshana and Captain Riyan Parag managed to take a wicket in the previous game.
