The last five editions of IPL for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) were topsy-turvy as they failed to put in consistent performances. Last year, they finished at the number three position with the defeat against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the second qualifier.
The biggest problem for the inaugural champions of the tournament was that they fell off the golden part in any edition and lost consecutive games to get out of the playoffs race. It also happened with them in 2023, when their four defeats in the last six encounters pushed them to finish in the fifth position.
RR to play two home games at the Barsapara Stadium
Rajasthan Royals will begin their IPL 2025 campaign on March 23 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium to face the Sunrisers Hyderabad before they lock horns with the Kolkata Knight Riders three days later at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. They will then face the Super Kings a few days later at the same venue.
Rajasthan Royals will have a week’s break after three successive games to take on the Punjab Kings on April 05 in Chandigarh. They won’t have many back-to-back games in the event as they travel to the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad for the clash against the Gujarat Titans.
The very first game for the Rajasthan Royals at their actual venue, the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, will be on April 13 as they take on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. In 57 games at the venue, the Royals have a win percentage of 35, which is not a great record.
They will travel to the Arun Jaitley Stadium to face the Delhi Capitals on April 16. The first half may decide the franchise’s fate for the season.
RR finds home advantage for the second half of IPL 2025
Playing at home for the second half is always an advantage for any franchise, and the Rajasthan Royals (RR) will go through the same route. They will begin the second half of the league at home on April 19 against the Lucknow Super Giants.
The Sanju Samson-led side will fly to the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 24 for the return fixture against the Rajat Patidar-led side. It will be an interesting contest with Bengaluru winning seven of the last 10 clashes in the head-to-head.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) will then host the Gujarat Titans in Jaipur for their last group-stage contest in April, as they extend their stay for the home fixture against the Mumbai Indians on May 01. They have a 15-14 lead over the Hardik Pandya-led side in the league's history.
The Eden Gardens will host the Royals’ next encounter on May 04 against the Kolkata Knight Riders. In another away game for RR, the Rahul Dravid-coached side will move to the MA Chidambaram Stadium for the crucial against the Chennai Super Kings. They will finish the league stage against Punjab on May 16.
