India's dominance in Test cricket has been surreal over the years. Over the years, the team has gone from strength to strength and has decimated their opponents with some fiery display of cricket.

Former Pakistan cricketer Ramiz Raja was in awe of India's consistency and admitted that they have established their dominance in Test matches. Ramiz gave this statement after India thrashed Bangladesh 2-0 in the recently concluded Test series.

The former Pakistan batter also lauded India's captain Rohit Sharma for making it a formidable team overseas as well. Not only does India have a proud record at home, but they have been brilliant in overseas conditions too, and have been winning matches there as well.

Ramiz Raja speaks on India's surreal dominance in Test cricket

While speaking on his YouTube channel, Ramiz Raja admitted that India is currently the toughest team to beat at home in Tests. He also lauded the Rohit Sharma-led side for becoming a dominant force in overseas conditions as well

"There is no doubt that at this time the toughest team to beat at home is India. But what's making it even better for India in Test cricket under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma is the overseas victories. Not only are they competitive overseas but also win matches, jiski wajah se dhaak ban chuki hai (because of which India have established their dominance)," Ramiz Raja said.

India haven't lost a Test series at home since 2012. England was the last team to beat India at home when the Alastair Cook-led English side created history. Since then, the Indian team has seen several changes in the squad but the players have been able to maintain the winning streak so far.

Not only at home, India's performances in overseas conditions have also been impressive. They have beaten Australia twice in an overseas series, in 2018-19 and 2020-21. In addition, the Men in Blue have also drawn an overseas Test series with England and also drew a Test series in South Africa earlier this year.

Ramiz Raja speaks on the growth of R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja

While India's dominance has not been dependent on just a single player, R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have played huge roles during this period. The duo has easily been the best spin-bowling duo in the world in Test cricket for a long time now.

Ramiz Raja spoke about the growth of both the legendary spinners and compared them with the performances of Pakistani players. He claimed that the Indian players go through a learning curve which makes them consistent players unlike in Pakistan, where a lot of players have failed to pick up pace after a good start to their careers.

"We have seen how these two (Ashwin and Jadeja) have grown in the game. In Pakistan, the performance of players plateaus and then slides down. There are a lot of examples of that in our country...but India's great success story is that their players go on a learning curve and then continue to ascend for a long time," the former PCB chairman added.

India's next Test assignment will be the home series against New Zealand where both the teams will play three Tests. After the Test series against New Zealand, the Men in Blue will travel down under for the highly anticipated Test series against Australia.

Looking at the recent performances, Team India will draw a lot of confidence for the upcoming series and will be difficult to stop for the opposition.
