Ranji Trophy 2022: Yash Dhull Scores Second-Successive Hundred On First-Class Debut

Indian sensational batter Yash Dhull scored successive hundreds on his First-Class debut as he hit an unbeaten 113-run knock in the second innings for Delhi against Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy 2022. Dhull brought his second century on the final day of Delhi’s opening match against Tamil Nadu at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday.
Dhull smashed 14 boundaries and a six after playing 202 balls to reach his second century in as many innings. The 19-year-old was involved in an inseparable stand of 228 runs with fellow opener Dhruv Shorey, who scored 107 from 165 balls as the match ended in a draw.

Dhull, who led the India U19 team to their fifth ICC U19 World title earlier this month, scored 113 runs in the first innings as Delhi posted a commendable first innings total of 452 with Lalit Yadav scoring 177 from 287 balls. Tamil Nadu medium-pacer M Mohammed scalped four wickets after conceding 75 runs.
In response to Delhi’s mayhem, Tamil Nadu batters led by Shahrukh Khan displayed the audacity to register a 42-run lead in the first innings. Shahrukh played a breathtaking knock of 194 runs from 148 balls that included 20 boundaries and 10 sixes.
Baba Indrajith played second fiddle to Shahrukh in their partnership of 134 for the sixth wicket, the former made 117 before he was trapped before the wicket by Nitish Rana. Delhi spinner Vikas Mishra was the pick of the bowlers as he picked six wickets and Tamil Nadu’s innings folded up on 494.
Yash Dhull scored 204 runs in the U19 World Cup
In the ICC U10 World Cup, Dhull amassed 229 from four matches at an average of 76.33, he scored a match-winning 110 against Australia U19 in the semi-final. He stitched 204 runs with his deputy Shaik Rasheed for the third wicket as India thumped Australia by 96 runs.
Dhull joined the likes of Mohammad Kaif, Virat Kohli, Unmkut Chand and Prithvi Shaw to win the U19 World Cup for India as their captain.
