Afghanistan’s gun spinner Rashid Khan might be one of the best T20 bowlers in the world today, but he also possesses as much endurance for Test cricket. Rashid Khan’s start to Test cricket was not the one desired; however, he gradually picked it up, snaring as many as four fifers in five Tests. Currently, the 21-year old holds the record for most overs bowled in a Test during the 21st century.

Rashid Khan bowled 99.2 overs in the ongoing Test match against Zimbabwe in Abu Dhabi, conceding 275 runs in two innings alongside 20 maidens. Before Rashid’s 99.2 overs, Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan delivered 113.5 in 1998 against England at the Oval. Khan’s efforts in the second innings were exceptionally crucial in breaking Zimbabwe’s rearguard even after they found themselves seven down.
