Rashid Khan Opts Out Of The Hundred Due To Unspecified Injury - Reports

Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan has pulled out of the Hundred 2023 on the eve of the tournament, as per ESPNCricinfo. The leg-spinner, who was slated to play three games with Trent Rockets, has opted out of the event due to an unspecified “injury”.
Rashid Khan was all set to be seen in action in the tournament opener against Southern Brave but will now be replaced by the Pakistan allrounder Imad Wasim for the first three games. After his three-game stint with Trent Rockets, he was due to be replaced by New Zealand leg spinner Ish Sodhi.
Rashid Khan was retained by Trent Rockets for £125,000. He faced an injury during the recently concluded Afghanistan tour to Sri Lanka. He played the T20I series but mentioned that he’s still not fully fit. After that, he played for Mumbai Indians New York in the Major League Cricket (MLC) 2023.

Rashid Khan will not be getting some time off to regain full fitness. He will now be seen in action when Afghanistan will travel to Sri Lanka and Pakistan to play the Asia Cup 2023, slated to take place from 30th August in the hybrid model.
Rashid Khan is however, not the only one to opt out of the tournament as earlier Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh were pulled out of the tournament by Cricket Australia to manage their workload for the ICC World Cup 2023 in India and the T20 World Cup 2024 in the Caribbean and the US.

Rashid Khan picks a three-wicket haul in the final of the MLC 2023
Rashid Khan played an instrumental role in making Mumbai Indians New York champions of the inaugural edition of the Major League Cricket 2023. The leg-spinner was at his exceptional best in the final of the tournament against the Seattle Orcas.
Rashid Khan bagged three wickets, removing Nauman Anwar, Heinrich Klaasen, and Imad Wasim to return with the figures of 3/9. Overall in 6 games, he picked 8 wickets.
