Former Pakistan cricketer Rashid Latif opened up about the poor outing of Virat Kohli in the semi-final of the T20 World 2024 against England. He made a brutal comment, saying that the batter should understand that hitting is not easy as it's not a Bengaluru surface.

The torrid run of Virat Kohli continued in the T20 World Cup 2024 as the batter bagged another low score in the tournament. The opening batter failed to get going in the semi-final against England as well, which took place at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Thursday.

Virat Kohli, who has been undergoing a poor run of form in the T20 World Cup 2024, was expected to set the stage on fire in the semi-final. With him being the big match player, a lot of bets were placed on him but it was another horror outing for him as he failed to go past the 10-run mark again.

Virat Kohli yet again tried to be aggressive at the top but the move failed again. The batter slammed one gorgeous six and after that decided to do that again. But he couldn't as Reece Topley castled him and the batter had to take the long walk to the pavilion, having scored 9 runs.

Virat Kohli's overall performance in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 has been torrid. Overall in 7 innings, he has failed to get going and has managed just 75 runs. The batter surely has been well below the standards and his poor outings at the top haven't allowed India to get quick-fire starts.

Talking about his innings in the semi-final, Rashid Latif stated that Virat Kohli went out of his plan and he needs to understand that pitches are not easy for batting. Speaking to Caught Behind, he explained:

"Virat Kohli went out of his plan. This is not a Bengaluru pitch, this is a different one. Hitting the ball is not easy on this surface. The entire team combined to post a total of 171. It is not that easy, there are problems here for batters."

It was tough for Rohit Sharma as he lost the toss and had to come out to bat - Rashid Latif

On the other hand, India captain Rohit Sharma played a stupendous innings. The skipper led from the front and played a sensational innings of 57 runs. He was one of the main reasons behind the win of the team as they won the game by 68 runs.

Rashid Latif pointed out that Rohit Sharma batted brilliantly in tough circumstances. He claimed that India's batter wasn't allowed to bat freely due to the weather conditions and that period was difficult for the batters. He added:

"It was tough for Rohit Sharma as he lost the toss and had to come out to bat. Virat Kohli was dismissed and rain interrupted the game. That period is very bad. Waiting for umpires, seeing super soppers in action and then coming out to bat again."

India will now be seen in action when they take on South Africa in the final of the T20 World Cup 2024. The match will be played on 29th June in Barbados.
