Punjab Kings spinner Ravi Bishnoi revealed the taking Rishabh Pant’s wicket in IPL 2020 is a very special memory for him. Bishnoi, who made his debut in IPL 2020, played for Punjab Kings last season. He bagged his debut IPL wicket after dismissing Delhi Capitals’ Rishabh Pant during last season. The right-arm spinner also said that he had the ambition to play in the Indian Premier League.
In his debut IPL season last year, leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi showed a great bowling performance for Punjab Kings. He picked 12 wickets in 14 matches and was the second-highest wicket-taker for his team. He also had a superb economy of 7.37 in the tournament. In IPL 2021, the 20-year-old will again play for Punjab Kings.
Rishabh Pant’s Wicket Was Very Special For Me: Ravi Bishnoi
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Bishnoi said that taking his debut IPL wicket of Rishabh Pant was very special for him. When asked about his favourite memory from IPL 2020, Bishnoi said, “The debut wicket was very special of that of Rishabh Pant”.
Ravi Bishnoi, who hails from Jodhpur city of Rajasthan, played for the Under-19 India team before his IPL debut. He also mentioned that it was his ambition to play in IPL as the tournament is a big opportunity.
“IPL is a big opportunity. It was one of my ambitions to play in IPL. As far as learnings go, I have said this before too that the margin of error is very low here.
“Any loose ball and you will be punished for it. Any loose shot also will result in a dismissal more often than not. That has been my biggest lesson and I have prepared that way,” he said.
Due to his good bowling performance in the initial games in IPL 2020, Punjab Kings inducted Ravi Bishnoi in all the 14 matches they played in the tournament. The team finished on the 6th spot in spite of skipper KL Rahul emerging as the highest run-scorer in the tournament.
In IPL 2021 too, Ravi Bishnoi is expected to lead the side in the spin bowling department. Punjab Kings will play their first IPL 2021 game against Rajasthan Royals at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 12 (Monday).
