Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi lauded T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav and vice-captain Shubman Gill for their support during his international cricketing career. Ravi Bishnoi stated that he loves playing for the India national cricket team under Suryakumar Yadav's leadership, describing his captaincy as great.

Ravi Bishnoi played a crucial role in the Men in Blue's series victory over Sri Lanka in the recently concluded three-match T20I series. Bishnoi took six wickets in three matches at an average of 16.83 and an economy rate of 8.42. The right-arm leg-spinner was the leading wicket-taker from both teams in the series.

The 23-year-old bowler picked up three wickets for 26 runs in his four overs during the second T20I match. He was named "Player of the Match" for his bowling performance in India's seven-wicket victory. Bishnoi also took two wickets for 38 runs in four overs in the third and final match on Tuesday, July 30.

Suryakumar Yadav Is Doing Great Captaincy - Ravi Bishnoi

Following his three-wicket haul during the second match, Ravi Bishnoi stated that both Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill backed him in their captaincy. Bishnoi recalled playing matches under Shubman Gill's captaincy in Zimbabwe earlier this month, adding that Gill did great as a captain.

“Suryakumar is doing great captaincy. I have played under him during the Australia series as well. He has been good. Shubman Gill’s captaincy was also great. In Zimbabwe, we also did great as a captain. They always back me and as a bowler, you cannot ask for anything more than this when the captain backs you. Suryakumar and Shubman have both backed me,” he said at the press conference, as per India Today.

Am Sharing A Great Bond With Gautam Gambhir - Ravi Bishnoi

Ravi Bishnoi said that he shares a strong bond with newly appointed head coach Gautam Gambhir, who was also his mentor at Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL. Bishnoi mentioned that Gambhir has not suggested any changes to his approach.

"I am sharing a great bond with Gautam Gambhir as he has been with LSG for two years. He has not asked me to change anything as such. He has told me to do what I am doing currently. His advice was useful to me earlier as well, and now too."

Bishnoi said that the Sri Lankan batters struggled against spin despite their reputation for playing it well. The young bowler mentioned that the home team batters collapsed during the middle overs, which surprised him.

"They play spin really well, but I don't know what has happened to them. They collapsed between the middle overs, and they were known as a good spin-playing team, but I think something has gone wrong," Bishnoi said.

Ravi Bishnoi will return home before the three-match ODI series against the same opponents. Bishnoi wasn't included in the 15-member squad for the upcoming series with the return of left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav. The ODI series will begin on Friday, August 2, at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
