In Perth, Kohli got out for a duck while trying to play a drive outside off-stump off Mitchell Starc as he edged the ball into the hands of Cooper Connolly, and in the second ODI, Xavier Bartlett trapped him LBW.

Kohli's dismissals shocked the cricket world as it was the first time in his legendary ODI career that he got dismissed for a duck in two consecutive matches.

However, the right-handed batsman made sure to end his Australia tour on a high at Sydney Cricket Ground. He got off the mark on the very first ball and remained unbeaten in the middle till the end. Virat Kohli scored 74* runs off 81 balls, with 7 fours, and was involved in a match-winning 168-run stand with Rohit Sharma.

Two ducks out of the pond - Ravi Shastri trolls Virat Kohli

After the conclusion of the Sydney ODI, Ravi Shastri, who was doing broadcasting duties alongside Adam Gilchrist, brought up Kohli's consecutive ducks in front of Rohit Sharma to roast him.

"Two ducks out of the pond. The ducks are finally out," the former India National Cricket Team head coach Ravi Shastri said.

"Good to be out of the pond, honestly. Well, you know, I kind of lost. You've scored so many runs in international cricket, but then the game shows you everything, even at this stage. Almost 37 in not many days and still can feel like don't know how to get a run.

"I mean, this game is amazing. That's why we love batting, we love batsmanship. And it's so challenging when it's not going your way, and just to find your rhythm again. Of course, going out there, having a situation to play in, always is something that always brings out the best in me," Virat Kohli replied.

Meanwhile, Kohli further said that he absolutely enjoys batting with Rohit Sharma as they understand each other's game really well.

“When Rohit's already batting there, it's pretty easy to kind of keep rotating strike. We understand each other's game pretty well. So, it's really good to have a big partnership and another match-winning partnership for us,” said Kohli.
