The Virat Kohli and boys hammered England batsmen in the 2nd innings on Day 5 to restrict them to just 120 against a target of 272. Eight England batsmen were dismissed for a single-digit score against a dangerous pace attack by India.
England had a dominant position in the match at the stumps of Day 4. After gaining a 27-run lead in the 1st innings, the Joe Root led-side had pushed India to a miserable score of 208-8.
However, Indian pacers Mohammed Shami (56*) and Jasprit Bumrah (34*) shattered an 89-run stand for the 9th wicket, taking India to a total of 298-8 (d). Later, India pacers crushed England batsmen to win the game by 151 runs, earning a massive victory at Lord’s.
