Ex-CSK spinner Ravichandran Ashwin admitted that he would have been more than happy had the likes of the Rajasthan Royals or the Royal Challengers Bengaluru picked him in the IPL 2025 mega-auction instead of the Chennai Super Kings.

Chennai Super Kings are one of the most successful franchises in the history of the IPL, and the fans often are way too berserk over their team's success and take pride in their success in recent years. CSK, despite their legacy, have often clashed with RCB fans.

The RCB fans and CSK fans have often clashed in the IPL, and the CSK fans have been proud enough while also making a sarcastic claim that no CSK player ever wishes to be part of the Royal Challengers squad in IPL history.

Ravichandran Ashwin revealed he would have loved to be part of RCB in 2025

After Rajasthan Royals, Ashwin opined that, "If I want to join any other team than CSK, then it's RR or RCB. Had RR picked me instead of Chennai in that mega auction, I would have been very happy.

"If they both didn't pick me up and RCB did, then too I would have been happy. It is due to two reasons: I have done some good bowling, and I have some great memories here, and I get some great encouragement from the crowds in those stadiums."

Ashwin, hence, revealed that he would have loved to be part of the RCB squad, unlike the speculated claims always made by the CSK fans.

Ravichandran Ashwin ended his glorious IPL career in 2025

Ravichandran Ashwin has featured for five different franchises in the history of the IPL. His best years came with the Chennai Super Kings, but he also represented the Rising Pune Super Giants, the Punjab Kings, the Delhi Capitals, and the Rajasthan Royals before ending his career at the end of a disappointing season for CSK in 2025.

Having played in 221 IPL matches between his debut in 2009 and his retirement in 2025, Ashwin picked 187 scalps to his name. He also played two IPL finals for the Super Kings while playing two more for the Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals. He won only two IPL titles with the Chennai Super Kings back in 2010 and 2011.
