Ravichandran Ashwin blew up another controversy as he pointed out a technical flaw in Ajinkya Rahane’s batting during the Ranji Trophy final between Mumbai and Vidarbha. Ashwin recently starred with the ball in the five-match Test series against England. The India spin spearhead once again led the team’s spin attack from the very front and played a key role in the series win.

He finished the series as the highest wicket-taker, taking 26 wickets in 5 Tests as India came from behind to win the series 4-1. England won the first Test by 28 runs before India bounced back in style by winning the remaining four games and extending their unbeaten run at home.

The hosts won the second Test by 106 runs before winning the third Test by a record margin of 434 runs. In the fourth Test, they registered a five-wicket win before thrashing the beleaguered tourists by an innings and 64 runs in the fifth and final Test. Ravichandran Ashwin starred with the ball in the fifth Test, taking nine wickets including five in the second innings.

With the Test series against England done and dusted, Ravichandran Ashwin is currently busy watching the ongoing Ranji Trophy final between Mumbai and Vidarbha. And it looks like the Tamil Nadu ace is closely watching the performance of his out-of-favor India teammate Ajinkya Rahane in the game as he pointed out a flaw in his batting technique. On Monday (March 11), he took to Instagram to post a photo of Rahane’s batting and pointed out the flaw.

Rahane has been struggling with his batting in the ongoing Ranji season and had managed just one fifty in seven games before hitting a fighting fifty in the second innings of the ongoing final.

In 11 innings, he managed to cross the 30-run mark just once when he scored 56 against Chhattisgarh. In 11 innings, he also registered as many as seven single-digit scores. In the ongoing final, he was out for just seven in the first innings before scoring a fifty in the second innings.

Series filled with milestones for Ravichandran Ashwin:

The recently concluded series against England saw Ravichandran Ashwin add a few more feathers to his already illustrious cap. In the third Test, he reached 500 Test wickets and became only the second Indian after Anil Kumble to achieve the feat. He also became the fastest Indian to achieve the feat.

The fifth Test against England was his 100th Test as he joined a handful of players who have reached the milestone in the longest format of the game.
