Cricket commentator and former Indian player Aakash Chopra has called Ravindra Jadeja the best all-rounder on the planet in Tests. Aakash Chopra also said that Jadeja is a better all-rounder than England’s Ben Stokes. Chopra’s words arrive after Ravindra Jadeja’s impeccable performance in India vs Sri Lanka 1st Test.

The Indian all-rounder slammed a marvelous 175-run unbeaten knock in the 1st innings of the match. Later, he grabbed 5 wickets in the 1st innings. He later also picked 4 wickets in the 2nd innings, totaling for 9 wickets in India vs Sri Lanka 1st Test in Mohali.

Ravindra Jadeja is The Best All-Rounder On The Planet In Tests: Aakash Chopra

In a video on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra called Ravindra Jadeja the best all-rounder on the planet at the moment. The 44-year-old also said that he rates Jadeja above Ben Stokes in the category of all-rounders.

“We declare this today that if we talk about Test cricket, Ravindra Jadeja is the best all-rounder on the planet at this point in time. I rate him above Ben Stokes as well. If we talk about the current scenario, as a batter and bowler, as a complete package, Jadeja is the best all-rounder. Only one player comes near him – I am not counting Cameron Green in that, he is good but still very young – I am talking about Ben Stokes. His bowling does not work that much in Test cricket, he is a batting all-rounder,” Aakash Chopra said.

Chopra also compared Ravindra Jadeja and Ben Stokes’ batting performances at home and foreign soil.

“We say Jaddu scores runs at home. Ben Stokes has also scored a majority of his runs in his areas. He is not going to score 150-175 when he comes to India, contributions will be there but it cannot be as significant as they are at home. We say the same thing about Jaddu. He has scored 175, 100 and 90 at home and when he goes away, it remains 50-70 runs. And he is a bowling all-rounder, Ben Stokes is a batting all-rounder. So in my opinion, Ravindra Jadeja is the best all-rounder in the world at the moment,” Aakash Chopra further said.

For smashing a 175-run knock and picking 9 wickets in India vs Sri Lanka 1st Test, Ravindra Jadeja won the man of the match award. India defeated Sri Lanka by an innings and 222 runs in the match. India piled up a mammoth total of 574-8 (d) in the 1st innings. Later, they bowled out Sri Lanka for 174 and 178 in both innings.
