Ravindra Jadeja's journey in the ongoing IPL 2024 came to an end on Saturday (May 18) after Chennai Super Kings suffered a 27-run defeat against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their last league game of the season.

The star all-rounder batted till the end but just could not take his team home. After RCB finished their innings on 218 runs, CSK needed to score at least 201 runs to qualify for the playoffs. However, they fell short by 10 runs as they finished on 191 for 7.

With CSK needing 17 runs from the final over to qualify for the playoffs, MS Dhoni hit Yash Dayal's first delivery for a big six. With 11 needed from 5 and Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja at the crease, CSK were the favorites to win the game. However, Dayal bounced back in style to power RCB to a famous win. He dismissed Dhoni on the second ball and conceded just a single in the next four balls.

Ravindra Jadeja got the strike for the last two balls and had to score 10 runs. However, the left-handed batsman failed to score any runs on those deliveries as CSK bowed out of the tournament on a disappointing note. While Ravindra Jadeja failed to score the required runs on the last two balls, he did play a fine innings, scoring an unbeaten 42 runs from 22 balls to keep CSK in the hunt.

Ravindra Jadeja likes controversial post:

While Ravindra Jadeja is receiving praise from several quarters for his fighting knock against RCB, he might face the heat from the fans for his recent activity on social media. The India allrounder has liked a post on X (formerly Twitter) that will not go down well with many, especially the Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma fans.

The posts accuse both Rohit and Kohli of not standing with Dhoni and stated that Jadeja is the only one who always stood with the former India skipper. Interestingly, Jadeja liked not one but two posts, making the same point.
