Team India left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja outfoxed South Africa opener Aiden Markram with a peach on Day 4 (Tuesday, November 24) of the second Test at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The veteran bowler knocked over the right-handed batter to give the team their second breakthrough in the innings.
South Africa began the day at 26/0 in their second innings with Ryan Rickelton and Aiden Markram at the crease. Jadeja provided the first wicket for the hosts by dismissing Rickelton, who scored 35 runs off 64 balls. On the first ball of the 29th over, Ravindra Jadeja produced an unplayable delivery to remove Aiden Markram. The left-arm spinner pitched the ball full on middle, allowed it to grip and turn sharply away, and beat Markram’s forward defence on the outside edge.
The delivery clipped the top of the off stump, leaving the batter with no answer despite his patient 29 off 84 balls. Ravindra Jadeja celebrated the breakthrough with his teammates mobbing around him. South Africa’s defensive approach was putting them under pressure.

Ravindra Jadeja Removes South Africa Openers on Day 4 in the Second Test
South Africa are in dominant position in the second Test even after Ravindra Jadeja removed both openers early in the innings. India remained far behind in the contest as the visitors continued to stretch their lead.
At the time of writing, the Temba Bavuma-led team was at 79/3, with Tristan Stubbs and Tony de Zorzi at the crease. Washington Sundar added a third strike for India by sending back Temba Bavuma for just three.
South Africa, already 1-0 ahead in the two-match series after their 30-run victory in Kolkata, have a chance to secure a series victory. The visitors have not won a Test series in India since the 1999-2000 tour. They are pushing hard to end that long wait.
India Bowled Out for 201 runs in First Innings
South Africa scored 489 runs after opting to bat. Senuran Muthusamy scored 109, while Marco Jansen added 93 off 91 balls. Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers for India, with four wickets to his name.
India were dismissed for 201, conceding a lead of 288 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Washington Sundar provided the main contributions, while Kuldeep Yadav battled through a lengthy stay at the crease. Jansen took six wickets while Simon Harmer bagged three scalps.
Meanwhile, Temba Bavuma is yet to lose as South Africa’s Test captain. He remains unbeaten after his first 11 matches in charge with ten victories and one draw. Bavuma also guided the team to the World Test Championship title earlier in the year.
