Indian cricket fans were left shocked and amused after a surprising moment brought two old rivals together. Ravindra Jadeja and Sanjay Manjrekar have finally turned their famous “bits and pieces” controversy into a hilarious collaboration for Samsung.
For years, Ravindra Jadeja's and Sanjay Manjrekar’s social media spat was remembered as one of the most dramatic off-field moments in Indian cricket history.

But now, India’s current star all-rounder and former India cricketer-turned-commentator have joined hands in a fun advertisement for the new Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, and the result has left fans laughing across social media platforms.

The advertisement begins with Sanjay Manjrekar talking about talent and execution in his typical commentary style. The commentator said while Ravindra Jadeja was sitting at a distance on the same table, "Talent, plenty. But execution in bits and pieces.”
Soon after, the Indian all-rounder entered and shifted the focus to the phone’s smart features, like Galaxy AI and the special Privacy Display. This led to a playful exchange where Jadeja started clicking funny pictures of Manjrekar while he imitated commentary moments.

The most hilarious part comes when Ravindra Jadeja used the phone’s AI feature to jokingly send Manjrekar to Antarctica in one of the pictures. Soon the phone screen got filled with notifications, and Manjrekar was confused and curious to get to know about those notifications.
But the former Indian batter struggled to see them because Jadeja activated the privacy display mode on the device. As Manjrekar questioned about that “defender” by saying his phone can’t do that, Jadeja delivered a cheeky response while showing off the phone’s special abilities.
With his signature mustache twirl, Jadeja said, "Bits and pieces, leave the AI phone, brother.”

Even Jadeja posted this ad on his social media handles with an eye-catching caption: “2019 was the year the 'Bits and Pieces' cricket debate ended. 2026 might be the year we settle the “Bits and Pieces” smartphone debate. Looks like Mr. @sanjaymanjrekar and I are back at it.”

The ‘Bits and Pieces’ Controversy
The collaboration quickly reminded fans of their famous clash during the 2019 ICC World Cup in England. Back then, Manjrekar had triggered a huge debate after describing Jadeja as a “bits and pieces” player while slamming his performance in the tournament.
Manjrekar had at that time, as quoted by the Times of India: “I am not a big fan of bits-and-pieces players, which Jadeja is at this point in his career in 50-over cricket. In test matches, he is a pure bowler. But in 50-over cricket, I would rather have a batsman and a spinner.”
Jadeja did not hold back either as he criticized the commentator’s remark, turning the incident into one of the most talked-about controversies of that World Cup.
He had said, “Still, I have played twice the number of matches you have played, and I'm still playing. Learn to respect people who have achieved. I have heard enough of your verbal diarrhea. @sanjaymanjrekar.”
