Ravindra Jadeja induced some fun in the dim morning at Guwahati, as he tapped the ball with his finger to get it through the ring in a humorous manner. Umpire Rod Tucker was handed the ball, and its condition calls for a change.
India advances to Day 2 of the Guwahati Test. The second match's track has been quite different from the first, offering a great balance between bowling and batting conditions. Indian bowlers have done a remarkable job, and so did the Proteas to have batted throughout the first Day of play.
Umpire Rod Tucker shrugged off Ravindra Jadeja's hand
Early on Day 2, the ball showed some unconventionality. The second new ball was taken up by India in the ending moments of Day 1's play. With less than 2 full overs bowled with the new ball, Mohammed Siraj ended the day with Tony de Zorzi's breakthrough wicket.
After just 12 overs bowled with the new ball, the ball turned disfigured, and Mohammed Siraj handed it to Umpire Rod Tucker.
When Tucker tried to force it through the ball-shaped ring, Ravindra Jadeja, in his own quirky fashion, pecked on the ball with his fingers. Umpire Tucker shrugged his hand off in a fun, engaging exchange.

South Africa achieves first wicketless session of the series
The first session of Day 2 has come to an end, as South African batters Kyle Verreynne and Senuran Muthusamy managed to keep the Indian bowlers in check. Though, as per run rates, this has been the slowest session of the match, yet it has been flawless, and they have managed to keep it a wicketless session.
This also marked another huge accomplishment for the Proteas, as they managed to portray a batting control of 94.3, the only time in this series when a batting control has surpassed 90.
Surely the Indian curators have learned something from their flop show at the Eden Gardens and are up with a promising track in Guwahati. At Lunch, South Africa is 316/6 in 111 overs, and the session marked a 70-run partnership between the two batters.
Senuran Muthusamy's half-century bolsters South Africa's lower-order show
Senuran Muthusamy is a South African all-rounder of Indian origin who has great numbers in First-Class cricket as well as a List A century. He has over 5000 Test runs and has also amassed nearly 300+ runs for South Africa.
The batter showed why he was sent in over the wicket-keeper Verreynne. Averaging 46, he went on to score the second half-century in the series and just the first in the match. Muthusamy has shown some stunning control over the spin bowling, with him being an additional spinner in the South Africa side.
As of now, the second session of play is about to begin, and the Proteas would surely be eyeing a 400+ total and looking to bat across the day. They already have a lead in the series and would not be looking forward to risking it by any means.
