During the 5th day of the second Test match between the India National Cricket Team and the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team at Sinhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground in Colombo, star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja stopped in between overs while he was bowling to one of the Sri Lanka batters and left the field in discomfort.

Sri Lanka, after the follow-on, came back strong as they have a 155-run lead with two wickets in hand, and once again Sonal Dinusha is standing in between India’s win and Sri Lanka’s epic comeback to draw the series. He has been their best batter in this series, and he has been showcasing his resilience once again when the team needs it.

Ravindra Jadeja walks off the field

The incident occurred after the 127.3 over, as Ravindra Jadeja, who was going to bowl the fourth ball of the over, stopped as he tried to bowl the ball. After stopping, he looked in discomfort and had an issue with his right heel; he didn't look too happy, took his cap from the umpire, and walked off the field.

While walking off the field, he was seen stretching his right leg. This is a major concern for Shubman Gill, as Jadeja has been excellent with the ball in this series, and if he is unable to bowl further in this Test match, it can turn out to be a negative impact for the Men in Blue.

Ravindra Jadeja's performance vs Sri Lanka

Ravindra Jadeja has used all his experience playing in these conditions and picking wickets for the side. In Sri Lanka's second innings, he picked two wickets and bowled 34 overs with two maidens. In the first innings, he also impressed, picking one wicket but bowled amazingly, getting grip and turn.

In the first Test match, in the first innings, he picked three wickets and one in the second innings. However, he has had a silent series with the bat, scoring just 65 runs in total so far in this series, with a high score of 43 runs, which came in the 2nd Test at Colombo.

Sri Lanka fights back

India had control of the game from the first day as they scored 503/9, with Devdutt Padikkal playing a knock of 117 runs off 193 balls and Dhruv Jurel remaining unbeaten with a score of 115*, and skipper Gill and Rishabh Pant scoring fifties respectively.

Sri Lanka, coming on to bat, scored 290 runs with Pasindu Sooriyabandara playing a fighting knock of 80 runs and once again Sonal Dinusha scoring a hundred, as he was dismissed for 103. The home side were forced to follow on as they came back strong, with the same two batters having been shining for them.

They have taken the lead, saving the innings defeat as the Lankan Lions lead by 170 runs on day 5, with the second session of play having come to an end yet again, Sooriyabandara scoring 92 and Dinusha is unbeaten at 98 runs as the tailender for the home side, frustrating the Indian bowlers.
