Former Indian team coach Sanjay Bangar recently cited former CSK all-rounder Ben Stokes as the best Test all-rounder, rating him over Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. He made the startling choice during a special segment with ESPNcricinfo.

Recently, Sanjay Bangar was asked to pick a player who can be cited as a better all-rounder than Ravindra Jadeja in the longest format of the game. Jadeja has been India's star performer in the format and has been showing his batting masterclass since the England tour.

Former cricketer Sanjay Bangar recently picked former CSK star as the finest ever Test all-rounder over India's Ravindra Jadeja. The 53-year-old former Indian coach, during a segment, 'Stay silent until you hear a better Test all-rounder than Ravindra Jadeja' with ESPNcricinfo, picked the man superior to Jadeja.

The segment started with all-rounder Axar Patel from India and continued with the names of Jason Holder (West Indies), Mehidy Hasan Miraz (Bangladesh), Marco Jansen (South Africa), Mitchell Santner (New Zealand), Roston Chase (South Africa), Mitchell Marsh (Australia), Cameron Green (Australia), and Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh).

Sanjay Bangar only spoke when the England all-rounder Ben Stokes was named. Bangar picked him as a superior to the Indian maestro.

Ravindra Jadeja currently tops the ICC Test all-rounder rankings

Jadeja recently made a new record as he was included in the elite list of cricketers with 4000+ runs and 300+ wickets in the longest format of the game. He joined the likes of Daniel Vettori, Kapil Dev, and Ian Botham in the list of cricketers with the same record.

Notably, Jadeja is currently ranked no. 1 in the ICC Men's Test all-rounder rankings with an impressive rating of 426. He was one of India's finest players on show, while Ben Stokes, on the other hand, has 295 points and is currently ranked third on the list.

Jadeja amassed 4035 runs in his Test career with the bat in his 131 Test innings, while he has also bagged 342 wickets from 165 bowling innings for India. Ben Stokes, in comparison, has scored 7032 runs in 206 innings and picked 230 wickets in 170 innings.

Jadeja was once again one of the best Indian players on show at Eden Gardens

Ravindra Jadeja, the all-rounder on show for India, was one of the finest players against South Africa in the recently concluded match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The biggest positives of his performance came with the ball during the second innings on Day 2.

The Indian southpaw amassed 27 and 18 runs across the two innings of play and then picked up four wickets in the game. He registered the figures of 4/50 in his 20 overs after going wicketless in the first.

Ravindra Jadeja will continue to be one of India's most crucial players as they advance off the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati for the second Test starting on the 22nd of November.
