RCB Appoints Mo Bobat As New Director Of Cricket Ahead Of IPL 2024

Royal Challengers Bangalore took to Twitter to announce the appointment of Mo Bobat as their new Director of Cricket. Bobat has served as England Cricket’s performance director since 2019 and has been part of ECB’s set-up for nearly 12 years during which England lifted the ODI World Cup and the T20 World Cup. He has closely worked with Andy Flower who was recently appointed as RCB’s Head Coach.
RCB had the service of Sanjay Bangar and Mike Hesson before appointing Andy Flower as Head Coach. Under Sanjay Bangar, the team failed to qualify for the playoffs in the 2023 season of the IPL finishing 6th on the table.RCB is one of the teams who have never won the IPL trophy in 16 seasons of IPL. This move of appointing Mo Bobat as the Director of Cricket might be the change that RCB needs to get their hands on the trophy.
Royal Challengers Bangalore qualified for the playoffs in back-to-back three seasons before failing to qualify this season. The team has reached the finals three times but has failed to win the trophy and now they are thinking of changing the team management a bit. The appointment of a new Head Coach and a Director will change the team’s narrative in the Auctions and utilization of players to their full potential.

RCB New Director Said It Will Be An Honour To Serve The Team
“RCB is one of the most recognizable franchises in the world, with a renowned fan base. To serve them will be a huge honor. It’s important to acknowledge the work of both Mike Hesson and Sanjay Bangar, for the stability and consistency they provided over recent years. I’m really looking forward to working closely with Andy Flower, somebody I know well, to take on the baton and deliver the success that RCB craves,” said Mo Bobat after being appointed.
Royal Challengers Bangalore will enter their 17th IPL season in 2024 and this time the fans will have exceeding expectations given that the team always gets close but are still trophyless in the tournament. RCB played their last final in 2016 when they were beaten by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the finals.
