However, the 2016 IPL finalists held a training session from 12 PM to 3 PM at the B Ground of the Narendra Modi Stadium, according to a report in Cricbuzz. Bengaluru now await the outcome of the clash between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings ahead of the much-awaited final clash.

Mumbai Indians Arrive at Ahmedabad Hotel Early Saturday Morning

After defeating the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Eliminator on Friday night, the Mumbai Indians squad skipped a return to their hotel in Mullanpur and traveled overnight to Ahmedabad.

Around 65–70 people, including players, support staff, and family members, travelled by road to Chandigarh airport, where a chartered flight awaited them. According to the report, they boarded the flight between 2:30 and 3:00 AM, landing in Ahmedabad and reaching their hotel by 5:00 AM on Saturday.

The plan was designed to ensure maximum rest and minimal disruption ahead of Qualifier 2, where they face Punjab Kings on Sunday evening. The MI team owners, also present during the match, reportedly took a separate private jet, likely returning to Mumbai.

“We boarded around 2:30 or 3 in the morning and reached Ahmedabad by 4:30. We were at the hotel by around 5," a member of the Mumbai team was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

Punjab Kings Advance to Qualifier 2 After Loss to RCB

Punjab Kings enter Qualifier 2 following a heavy defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on May 29 in Mullanpur. They were bowled out for just 101 runs and lost by eight wickets with plenty of overs to spare.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians secured their spot in Qualifier 2 after a win in the Eliminator against Gujarat Titans on May 30. Rohit Sharma scored 81 runs to help post a strong total of 228, and their bowling, led by Jasprit Bumrah, defended it to secure a 20-run victory.

The teams rested on Saturday, with no official practice sessions held. However, some non-playing Mumbai Indians members did a light training session at Narendra Modi Stadium in the evening.
