Virat Kohli's RCB is all set to take on MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings in the final league game at the Chinnaswamy on Saturday. This is a must-win game for CSK to make it to the playoffs.

After losing six on the bounce, the side has won five games on the trot to make a resounding comeback in the IPL. They now have a tough equation to crack to make it to the playoffs. They have to beat CSK by 18 runs or chase down the target with 11 balls to spare assuming Chennai posts a score beyond 200.

This has been a campaign of two halves for RCB. They were outplayed in the first half of the season losing six games hammered by opposition teams. Starting with the 35-run win against SRH, Royal Challengers Bangalore started dominating opposition teams with five back-to-back wins to give themselves a chance to make the playoffs.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli shared his opinion on the impact player rule before the match. RCB as a side has not made the best use of the rule. Previously Rohit Sharma shared his opinion on the same and did not support this new rule change in the tournament as he believed it excessively helped the batting side.

Impact Player Rule Not Safe For Bowlers: Virat Kohli

"I am not a big fan of Impact-sub rule. It is going to hold all-rounders back, eventually, cricket is played by 11 players not 12 players. You are taking out so much from game to make it entertaining for people around. If you look just from the cricketing aspect of it I feel guys like Shivam Dube and Washington Sundar aren't getting to bowl, which for us is not a good thing," Rohit said on the 'Club Prairie Fire' podcast.

Now Virat Kohli also does not seem to approve the rule. He said that with this rule coming into effect batters have the freedom to attack the bowlers and hit every ball for a boundary.

"I agree with Rohit about the Impact player rule - I feel like the game has reached a point where bowlers feel like every ball is 6 or 4 - this is high-level cricket, it shouldn't be too dominant - not every team has Bumrah/Rashid, I know Jay Bhai has mentioned that they will be reviewing it" Kohli said to Jio Cinema.

Previously BCCI Secretary Jay Shah also gave his opinion on the Impact Player Rule. The rule was first used last year with teams still understanding how to properly use it. This year a few teams have been more smart about it.

“It's a test case. We are consulting players, franchisees, and all concerned. I feel the matches are getting more interesting, more Indian players are getting a chance to play. If our consultations reveal dissatisfaction, we will change it, he said.

RCB Will Get Eliminated If The Match Is Called Off Due To Rain

Meanwhile, speaking about the RCB vs CSK game on Saturday, the rain threat looms large and might play spoilsport in the contest. In case the match is rained out, RCB will be eliminated from the tournament while CSK will make it through to the playoffs.
