RCB faces a must-win scenario against CSK as they get set to play their last league game of IPL 2024. This is also the final league game for Chennai Super Kings as well.

As of now, CSK are placed fourth on the points table with 14 points. KKR (19), RR (16), and SRH (15) are the three teas to have qualified for the playoffs. RCB have an uphill task on their hands to make it to the playoffs.

RCB already have a tough equation to get in case they want to make it to the playoffs. They need to beat CSK by 18 runs or need to chase the target with 11 balls to spare assuming CSK scores above 200 batting first.

Meanwhile, there is a forecast of heavy rain in Bangalore on Saturday. The equation becomes even tougher for RCB in case it turns out to be a truncated game.

In case it's a 15-over match, RCB needs to restrict CSK to 172 or chase down the score in 13. 1 overs. In case it's a 10-over contest, RCB needs to restrict CSK to 140 or chase 122 in 8.1 overs.

The equation gets even tougher in case it's a five-over contest. RCB will need to chase 72 in 19 balls to win the match. A washout will mean that CSK will qualify as the fourth team in the playoffs and play the Eliminator.

RCB's Equations Against CSK In Case Rain-Interruption

Six back-to-back losses affected RCB's NRR by a big margin. They tried to make up for it winning five back-to-back games and some of them by a big margin. Win by nine wickets against GT, 60 runs against Punjab Kings and 47 runs against Delhi Capitals helped them recover a little bit but there is still a lot to do.

Kohli's form with the bat has been a big positive for RCB this season. He has scored 661 runs this season and can eventually end up with more than 700 runs this season if he has a good outing with the bat.

Meanwhile, the weather forecast says that there is an 80 percent chance of rain. Though The Chinnaswamy stadium has a good drainage system, the impact of rain is expected to make a difference for the teams batting first or second.

So far two games have been washed out by rain, GT vs KKR and SRH vs GT. The rained-out game saw Gujarat Titans being eliminated from the tournament with the last two games getting abandoned due to rain. Rain might play spoilsport in RCB's campaign as well which seems very likely at the moment with inclement weather conditions.

RCB lost their campaign opener against CSK as they failed to defend 173 against Chennai. Overall, CSK lead the head-to-head count by 21-10. They have won their last three and five out of their last six games against RCB.
