The sun is shining bright and chances of rain are pretty low in Bengaluru as the RCB takes on CSK later tonight at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be welcoming the reigning champions Chennai Super Kings in what is both of the team's final league matches of IPL 2024. Over the last couple of days, the rain god has been quite cruel to IPL teams as several games have been washed out due to extreme weather conditions.

2 matches in the closing week of IPL 2024 were abandoned due to rain. The Gujarat Titans could not play their final 2 games against Kolkata and Hyderabad due to the same reason and it had also become the reason for their failure to reach the play-offs. If the same happens during tonight's clash between RCB and CSK, then one team will have to pay the price by getting knocked out.

Will rain play its part in RCB Vs CSK?

Several weather reports have claimed that rain might play its part during match number 68 between RCB and CSK. Although the sun has come out in Bengaluru this morning and it might look like there won't be any rain weather reports are suggesting something else.

While the weather seems to be bright during the daytime, the second half of the day might experience some rain. Over the last 4-5 days, Bengaluru has experienced pre-monsoon showers passing over the state of Karnataka, and the same is expected today.

Some reports are also claiming that there are 90% chances of rain later this evening when RCB and CSK take the field one last time before the play-offs. Going by the coverage of AccuWeather, the weather will be cloudy with a couple of passing showers around the city along with a Thunderstorm expected to occur this Afternoon.

In the evening, when the match begins, some parts of the city will experience a thunderstorm with a 100% cloud cover and a 47% chance of precipitation. The temperature is expected to be around 24-25 degrees and that is not good news at all for RCB and CSK, specifically for the Bengaluru-based franchise.

The Chennai Super Kings can receive qualification for the playoffs if the match gets abandoned and both teams are given a point each. In that case, CSK will qualify with 15 points but RCB, with that 1 point, will get to 13 points, which is certainly not enough to finish in the top 4.

All the RCB fans will hope for the match to get underway in Bengaluru as they won't want to get knocked out without even putting up a fight.

Head to Head stats between RCB and CSK

Ruturaj Gaikwad's side has an upper hand over Faf du Plessis' RCB as the CSK have won more games in this South Indian derby. Out of the 33 matches played between the two sides since 2008, Chennai has a lion's share with 22 wins while Bengaluru has won just 10 times with only one match having a no result.
