Rishabh Pant might face the wrath of MS Dhoni fans due to his recent social media activity. The India wicketkeeper-batsman has liked a derogatory reel on the former India captain.

The reel contains a clip of Rishabh Pant standing up to the stumps while fast bowler Rasikh Dar Salam was bowling. The clip was from the game between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the ongoing IPL 2024.

In the clip, Rishabh Pant could be seen taking a sharp catch to dismiss Shahrukh Khan. After the GT batter edged the ball, the DC skipper showed remarkable reflexes to complete an impressive catch. While there was no issue with the clip, the text on it might not go down well with many.

The Instagram page shared the clip by taking a swipe at MS Dhoni, writing: "Faster ko bhi aage rahkar hi keeping karunga (Kyu ki mai Rishabh Pant hu MS Dhoni nahi) (roughly translated to: I will stand up to the stumps against the pacers as well because I am Rishabh Pant, not MS Dhoni).

While sharing derogatory clips about players is nothing new, Rishabh Pant's decision to like it has raised a number of eyebrows. There is a good chance that the DC skipper might not have noticed the whole text as the MS Dhoni part was not focused, unlike the wicketkeeping part which was written in bold.

Here is the reel:

Rishabh Pant suspended:

Talking about the ongoing IPL 2024, Rishabh Pant will miss DC's huge clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Sunday (May 12) after being suspended due to a slow over-rate offense. He has also been fined INR 30 Lakh for his team's failure to complete the overs in the allotted time during the game against Rajasthan Royals earlier this week.

DC were 10 minutes behind time at the start of the final over in that game. Rishabh Pant and DC faced heavy punishment because it was their third slow over-rate offense this season. The other players have been fined INR 12 Lakh or 50% of their match fee, whichever is lesser.
