Veteran Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami praised Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) opening batter Virat Kohli for his unwavering commitment to the game. Mohammed Shami stated that Virat Kohli gives his everything to the game, including fitness, batting, and even bowling.

Virat Kohli has been in outstanding form with the bat in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The star batter is the leading run-getter in the ongoing T20 tournament. He has scored 634 runs at an impressive average of 70.44 and a strike rate of 153.51, including a century and five fifties.

The veteran batter scored 92 runs off just 47 balls in RCB's 60-run victory in Dharamsala on Thursday, May 9. He helped the team set a massive target of 242 runs for PBKS. The Bengaluru bowlers bundled out the Punjab team for 181 runs to keep their playoff hopes alive in the IPL 2024.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru is currently seventh in the table with 10 points and a net run rate (NRR) of +0.217. To secure a spot in the playoffs, RCB must win their remaining two league matches against the Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings, along with favorable outcomes in other matches.

Virat Kohli Keeps His Plans Very Clear - Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami highlighted Virat Kohli's ability to excel in any role given to him, including bowling. Shami described Kohli as someone who maintains focus regardless of the situation and carries himself with the aura of a great player wherever he goes.

"He keeps his plans very clear, be it fitness, batting. Even if you give him the bowling, he will do the job, even with his cross feet (wrong foot) action. Woh ek aisa banda hai jo kahin bhi rahe woh apne frame (zone) mei rehta zaroor hai. Woh jab bhi aayega, woh show karega apne aap ko ke haan 'mai kya hu (he is such a person who stays focused wherever he is. Whenever he returns, he shows who he is)," said Shami on Cricbuzz.

Mohammed Shami praised Virat Kohli for his fitness and skill. The 33-year-old pacer described Kohli as an ideal role model for today's generation, stating they can learn various life aspects from him.

"If there are such role models for today's generation, imagine how much they will get to learn -- fitness, skill, and so on. Every aspect you look at, you find loyalty for everything. That is reflected in Virat Kohli. He has everything that young people need in their role model,” Shami added.

Virat Kohli aims to maintain his form for RCB and the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. The Delhi-born cricketer hasn't won a T20 World Cup yet and is determined to change that in the tournament scheduled in the West Indies and the USA in June this year.
