A senior Gujarat Cricket Association official has shared key details about the pitch for the upcoming IPL 2026 final, according to a report by RevSportz. The comments have drawn significant attention, with both teams eager to understand how the surface could influence the biggest match of the season.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) will face off in the IPL 2026 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, May 31. The title clash will be played on the mixed-soil Pitch No. 6, with conditions expected to play an important role as the two teams battle for the championship.

The GCA official stated that the pitch is expected to offer a fair contest between bat and ball. According to the official, the surface will provide good bounce and carry for batters while also giving fast bowlers some assistance with the new ball.
“It will be a good pitch,” a Gujarat Cricket Association official told RevSportz. “The pitch will have good bounce and carry. It will aid run-scoring. At the same time, there will be something for the bowlers, especially upfront. You can call it a sporting pitch.”
Pitch No. 6 was also used for the 2026 T20 World Cup final earlier this year, when India posted 255 runs before bowling out New Zealand for 159. However, during the league stage of IPL 2026, Gujarat Titans dismissed Royal Challengers Bengaluru for 155 on the same surface.

Shubman Gill believes the IPL 2026 final will be decided by which team handles the pressure better. Speaking ahead of the title clash, the Gujarat Titans captain said that his side remains focused on its plans despite recent travel disruptions and a demanding schedule.
"Dharamshala is kind of a difficult venue to get to and travel from, but yes, physically they might have an advantage. But I think finals are all about the mental side of the game, so the team that is mentally up for the challenge is the one that is going to win," Gill said.
Gujarat Titans faced travel delays after thunderstorms affected flight operations following Qualifier 2. The team booked its place in the final with a win over Rajasthan Royals and received a major boost from all-rounder Jason Holder, who has taken 17 wickets in 10 matches this season.
