'RCB's biggest achievement': Gautam Gambhir leaves fans stunned with his comment for RCB after KKR's 1-run win

Gautam Gambhir has never shied away from expressing his dislike for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Time and again, the former Kolkata Knight Riders skipper has made it clear that if there is one team that he enjoys beating in the IPL, it is Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

He himself admitted it last month before the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Before the clash, the former India batsman, who is currently plying his trade as the mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders, stated that he always wanted to beat the Bengaluru-based outfit even in his dreams. 

"One team I always want to beat every time and probably even in my dreams was RCB," Gambhir had told Star Sports.

When the anchor asked him the reason, the two-time IPL winning captain had said: "I just want to."

He later explained the reason behind his dislike for the franchise, saying: "They are the second-most high-profile team, a flamboyant team, with the owner, and the squad - Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers. Not won anything, but still thought they won everything, and that kind of attitude, I can't take that."

Days after raising a number of eyebrows with his comments for RCB, Gautam Gambhir has left many surprised with his latest comment for the Bengaluru-based franchise. The comment came after KKR's thrilling one run-win over RCB in the ongoing IPL 2024.

On Sunday (April 21), KKR defeated RCB by one run in a high-scoring thriller to complete a double over them. Asked to bat first, KKR posted 222/6 in 20 overs. In reply, RCB finished on 221 at the Eden Gardens. The visitors needed three runs off the last two balls to pull off a famous win. However, they lost two wickets while scoring just one on the last two balls to lose the game.

While RCB ended up on the losing side, they managed to win Gautam Gambhir's respect with their attitude on the field. Soon after the game ended, the former India batter took to X (formerly Twitter) to laud RCB's character, writing:
