Redemption time: Dinesh Karthik predicts epic India vs Australia clash at WTC 2025 final

Former India National Cricket Team batter Dinesh Karthik backed the Rohit Sharma-led side to beat the Australia National Cricket Team in the final of the ICC World Test Championship 2025. He said that it would be their chance to get redemption and win the title.

India and Australia look favorites to reach the final of the ICC World Test Championship. Both the teams are at the top of the table and with the kind of performances they have been putting in the longest format of the game, it won't be a surprise if they each other in the summit clash at the Lord's Cricket Ground in London.

India and Australia clashed with each other in the final of the ICC World Test Championship 2023. The two teams clashed with each other in the summit clash at the Oval and it saw the Pat Cummins-led side crushing the Rohit Sharma-led to win the ICC title.

Ahead of the final both India and Australia will also be squaring off with each other in the five-match Test series down under. The series will be played in November-December and January and it will be a crucial series for both teams in the context of the World Test Championship.

The Men In Blue have been dominant on their last two tours to Australia. They have won two back-to-back series down under. This time around they will be keen to replicate the same kind of performance this time around. On the other hand, Australia would want to take the revenge.

India will be having 10 Tests ahead of the final of the World Test Championship. Apart from Australia, they will be playing two games against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team and three games against the New Zealand National Cricket Team at home. On the other hand, Australia will be playing five Tests.

Dinesh Karthik backs India to win the final of the World Test Championship 2025

Dinesh Karthik backed both India and Australia to reach the final of the World Test Championship. He pointed out how the Pat Cummins-led side defeated the opposition in the last final. He believes that it will be India's chance to win. Speaking to Cricbuzz, he explained:

"I think it’s going to be Australia will be in the World Test Championship final and that is India’s chance to get redemption. Two years ago they beat us at the Oval. Here is a chance that’s going to come again in 2025 and I genuinely wish India goes on to cross that hurdle and beat Australia in that World Test Championship final."

India have reached the final of the last two World Test Championship cycles. While New Zealand defeated them in the first final, it was Australia who crushed them in the second final. They were outplayed both times and would be hoping to change their fortunes this time around and win the first-ever title in Test cricket.
