There is absolutely no stopping Rinku Singh at the moment. The highly-rated middle-order batsman is not squandering any chance to show his finishing skills. After his impressive match-winning cameo in the first T20I, the left-handed batsman impressed in the second T20I too against Australia on Sunday (November 26).

The Uttar Pradesh star faced just 9 deliveries in the game but it was enough for him to show the world his immense potential. In those 9 deliveries, he smashed an unbeaten 31 runs with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes. He walked out to bat in the 18th over after the dismissal of captain Suryakumar Yadav and hit the ground running.

In the 19th over of the innings, Rinku Singh took Sean Abbott to the cleaners to collect 25 runs from the over. He hit three fours and a couple of sixes in the over before hitting one more four in the final over as India finished their innings on a mammoth 235 for 4.

While Rinku Singh has only played 7 games so far, he is already being compared to the legendary MS Dhoni, one of the best finishers in the history of cricket. India’s stand-in captain Suryakumar Yadav might have the same views. Speaking in the post-match presentation ceremony, the star batter praised Rinku Singh and said that the youngster reminded him of someone as he indirectly pointed to Dhoni.

“When I saw Rinku come in to bat in the last game, the composure he showed was brilliant. It reminded me of someone. Everyone knows the answer,” said Suryakumar.

Rinku Singh has started his international career in a brilliant manner and has already made a big impression as a finisher. In T20Is, he has faced a total of 28 balls in the last two overs of the innings and has smashed a staggering 93 runs with the help of 9 fours and 8 sixes.

Talking about the game, India thrashed Australia by 44 runs to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. After scoring 235/4, India restricted Australia to 191/9. The third match of the series is scheduled to be played on Tuesday (November 28) in Guwahati.
