Pakistan Cricket Team captain Babar Azam is apparently miffed with the Mohammad Wasim-led national selection committee following the selection of squads ahead of the upcoming tours of Zimbabwe and South Africa.
According to a report published in The Dawn, the skipper is not impressed with the squad selection and has conveyed his displeasure to the selection committee.
According to the same report, Babar Azam was taken by ‘surprise’ following the announcement of the squad and he has conveyed the same to his close circle.
The charismatic batsman may even take up the matter with the top bosses of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
“Babar Azam feels there are way too many changes in the T20 Squad,” said a report in English daily ‘The Dawn’.
According to the report, Babar Azam is of the view that some squad players did not get enough game-time in the last series and hence it was unfair to drop them.
The Mohammad Wasim-led national selection panel has come under scrutiny following the announcement of the squad, the most controversial decision being to drop all-rounder Imad Wasim, whom Babar Azam desperately wanted in the team.
That said, Mohammad Wasim has denied the reports claiming that there were differences on selection matters.
