Former India cricketer Abhinav Mukund shared a suggestion for the young Team India after the loss in the first T20I against the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team. He told the Shubman Gill-led side to continue playing with the aggressive approach.

India National Cricket Team are currently in Zimbabwe for the five-match T20I series. It wasn't a great start for them in the series as they went on to lose the first match of the series by 13 runs at the Harare Sports Club in Harare on Saturday (6th July).

It was a torrid outing for the Shubman Gill-led side as they didn't bat well. In what seemed an easy win for them, they bottled it away and didn't have the kind of start they would've wanted to the series, failing to chase the low total, especially with such a talented batting lineup.

India opted to field first and they had a sensational outing with the ball. They didn't let the Zimbabwe batters settle at all and kept picking wickets at regular intervals. Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of 4/13 and also bowled two maiden overs in his spell.

Apart from Ravi Bishnoi Washington also was amongst the wickets and returned figures of 2 for 11 in his four overs. Mukesh Kumar and Avesh Khan got a wicket each as India restricted the imbabwe National Cricket Team to the total of just 115 runs and it seemed that they would chase it easily.

But it wasn't the case as India had a worst possible outing with the bat. They didn't get going at all with the bat and lost wickets at regular intervals. Shubman Gill was the top run-scorer for the team with his score of 31 runs while the rest of the top order failed to go past even the 10-run mark.

In the end, Washington Sundar (27) fought hard for his team. But he didn't get the desired support. The all-rounder gave his best and took the game to the last over but couldn't take the team home as India got all out for 102 runs. Tendai Chatara (3 for 16) and Sikandar Raza (3 for 25) were the pick of the bowlers for Zimbabwe.

Abhinav Mukund wants India to play with an aggressive approach

Most of the Indian batters lost their wickets while trying to take the attack on. They didn't realize the need to stay there and hence faced a collapse. But Abhinav Mukund wants them to continue playing in the same fashion.

Ahead of the second T20I against Zimbabwe, Abhinav Mukund stated that India batters need to respect the conditions as well. Speaking on Sony Sports Network after the first match, he stated:

"I don't think they should change their approach. Maybe they should respect the conditions more."

The second match between India and Zimbabwe will be played on Sunday (7th July). The Shubman Gill-led side would be keen to make a comeback and level the series 1-1.
