On Thursday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a ₹58 crore cash reward for Team India following their triumph in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The massive prize money will be distributed among players, coaching and support staff, and members of the Selection Committee.

India, led by Rohit Sharma, secured the ICC Champions Trophy by defeating New Zealand by four wickets in the summit clash in Dubai on March 9. This was Rohit Sharma’s second ICC title as captain of the Indian team. The 37-year-old became the first skipper to lead a team in all ICC tournament finals.

BCCI Announces ₹58 Crore Cash Reward for Team India

The board has announced a ₹58 crore cash reward for Team India after their victory in the Champions Trophy. The board confirmed that the prize money will be distributed among players, coaching and support staff, as well as members of the Men’s Selection Committee.

"The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is delighted to announce a cash reward of INR 58 Crore for Team India following their triumph at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This financial recognition honours the players, coaching and support staff and members of the Men’s Selection Committee," the board said in a statement.

The Men in Blue secured their third ICC Champions Trophy title, having previously won in 2002 and 2013. This victory also marked their second consecutive ICC trophy, following their triumph over South Africa in the 2024 T20 World Cup final.

Team India Players to Receive Entire ICC Prize Money

According to a report by the Times of India, each player from India's 15-member squad will receive ₹3 crore from the BCCI. The entire ICC prize money for winning the 2025 Champions Trophy will be distributed only among the players.

"TOI has learnt that as per the breakup of this booty, each player in the 15-man squad will receive Rs 3 crore from the BCCI. In addition to this, the BCCI has decided that the entire ICC prize money for winning the 2025 Champions Trophy (US$ 2.24 million, or Rs 20 cr) will be shared by the Team India players alone," the report read.

The ICC announced a total prize pool of $6.9 million for the 2025 Champions Trophy, a 53% increase from 2017. India received $2.24 million, with an additional $34,000 for each match won (excluding the semi-finals and final).

India's Head Coach Gautam Gambhir to Receive ₹3 Crore

The BCCI has announced ₹3 crore to India's head coach, Gautam Gambhir, the same amount as the players, for the team's Champions Trophy victory. Each member of the support staff will receive ₹50 lakh.

Chief selector Ajit Agarkar will get ₹30 lakh, while the other four national selectors will receive ₹25 lakh each. BCCI staff members who were part of India's contingent in Dubai will also be awarded ₹25 lakh each.

India remained unbeaten throughout the event, winning all five matches. They defeated Bangladesh and Pakistan by six wickets each in the group stage, followed by a 44-run win over New Zealand. In the semi-final, they secured a four-wicket victory against Australia before defeating New Zealand in the final.
