Revealed: Who are the impact players nominated by CSK and DC in match 17 of IPL 2025

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are scheduled to take on Delhi Capitals (DC) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Saturday, April 5. Impact players from both Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals lineups have been revealed for Match 17 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season.

Delhi Capitals skipper Axar Patel won the toss and opted to bat for their away match. The Delhi-based franchise is yet to be defeated in the marquee tournament, having won their first two matches of the season. Meanwhile, the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side has managed just one win from three games so far.

After winning the toss, Axar Patel said that the pitch might assist bowlers and could slow down later in the match. He added that the team is benefiting from having experienced leaders in the squad, including players who have captained other IPL teams.

"We are going to bat first. Feels like there'll be help for the bowlers. Expect it to get slower as the game progresses. In our team, we have a few players who have captained other franchises and that helps me a lot. Same combination. Faf is not fit for this game, Sameer Rizvi is playing," Axar Patel said.

Ruturaj Gaikwad said that his team was also considering batting first. He confirmed his elbow is feeling fine and announced two changes in the lineup: Devon Conway replaces Craig Overton, and Mukesh Choudhary comes in for Rajvardhan Hangargekar.

"We were looking to bat as well. Looks a bit dry. It's a bit cloudy, won't change much. You always want momentum in T20 cricket," Ruturaj Gaikwad said.

"Overall, the chat has been positive. Fielding is something which we can improve day by day. We want to be proactive. Elbow is good. Conway comes in for Overton. Mukesh comes in from Tripathi."

Chennai Super Kings have had a rough start in the 2025 IPL season. They suffered a heavy 50-run defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in their last match at home.

CSK are eighth on the points table with one of the worst net run rates in the league. They were defeated by Rajasthan Royals (RR) in a close contest in Guwahati.
